Harrogate played a pre-season training match at Selby on Friday 30 August 2024 as part of their warm up for a return to National League 2 North. They took a large playing squad, and gave all a run-out.

The match was played as 4 20-minute quarters. No score emerged in the first quarter, before Harrogate took the lead in the second. Jacob Garrett forced his way over from short range for a try converted by Oli Toomey.

There were no further scores until the very last minute of the final quarter. Harrogate were in possession near the halfway, but Archie Bennett intercepted and ran to score to the delight of the sizeable Selby crowd. Unfortunately for them, Ollie Parsonage's conversion attempt stuck the upright, meaning Harrogate won the match by 7 points to 5.

Harrogate's first league game of the season takes place next Saturday at Billingham, kick off 2.15pm. It would be great to see as many Harrogate supporters there as possible.
